File Integrity Monitoring is the process of continuously checking your server's files to ensure they haven't been modified without authorization. It acts as an early warning system for hacks.
How It Works
A FIM scanner takes a mathematical "fingerprint" (a checksum or hash) of every file on your site when it is in a known good state. It then periodically re-scans the files. If the hash of a file changes, it means the content of the file was altered.
